We left Ushuaia on a rainy windy day and headed for Puerto Natales.
They were the hardest two days riding we have ever done. Brutal is the word I would use. I have uploaded a few seconds of video from Clair’s bike. Watch the horizon and bear in mind this is a straight road.
The first day was hard, rain and a fair amount of wind left us tired with us not stopping until 8pm in a tiny village. We really took pot luck and found a room with two single beds. They were still serving dinner in their restaurant so we were straight in there.
The second day was very, very hard. The winds were gusting to over 40mph across the plains and we had to ride leaning into the wind.
We even had a moment where we thought we would run out of fuel, we were getting just over 200km from a tank. We can get 360km on a good day!
